Baseball Recap: Aitkin Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Aitkin's offense. They came up short against the Marshall Hilltoppers on Wednesday, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Gobblers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

With the defeat, Aitkin broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2. As for Marshall, the win was the 18th in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aitkin will head out to square off against Moose Lake/Willow River at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marshall, they will venture away from home to take on Superior at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
