Softball Recap: Brockway Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Brockway came tearing into Monday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the East Forest/West Forest Fires 18-5. While the Rovers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Navayda Smith looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Sierra Fremer was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Reitz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-6.

Brockway hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive matches.

Brockway's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for East Forest/West Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Brockway will challenge DuBois Central Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Forest/West Forest has already played their next game (against Redbank Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
