Volleyball Game Preview: Lyndon Tigers vs. Mission Valley Vikings

The Lyndon Tigers will square off against the Mission Valley Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lyndon is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Burlington just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-20.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Mission Valley and Chase County, and Mission Valley kept the tradition alive. The Vikings skirted past the Bulldogs 2-1.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Mission Valley got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 16-25, 27-25.

Mission Valley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Lyndon, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.

Lyndon beat Mission Valley 2-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
