Wes Burford Delivers Best Effort of Season

On Friday, Oakdale got the W thanks in part to Wes Burford playing the best football he has all season. Burford rushed for 381 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 143 or more in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.

The win (which was Oakdale's sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Burford and Oakdale will head out to take on Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Another Game with at Least Three Passing Touchdowns from Max Medina

On Friday, Patterson had to settle for second even though Max Medina put up the best numbers he has all season. Medina wasn't messing around, throwing for 338 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The contest was his third straight with three or more passing touchdowns dating back to last season.

This season, Medina has thrown 22 touchdowns while averaging 273.5 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 10.63 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 34.25 rushing yards.

Carter Meeks Has Career-Day on Friday

Central Catholic was led to victory by Carter Meeks, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Meeks rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Meeks and Central Catholic will host Oakdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meeks will face off against Wes Burford, the Mustangs' star running back. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.

Sadly, Coby Joseph posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Patterson over Oakdale on Friday. Joseph rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.

This year, Joseph has run in those 2 touchdowns while averaging 73.2 rushing yards per game.

Chase Lopez and Co. Win Sixth in a Row

Oakdale picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Chase Lopez. Lopez was unstoppable, rushing for 135 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.

For the season, Lopez has run in 6 touchdowns while averaging 107.7 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 0.57 rushing yards per game.
