Tumwater gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Mark Morris Monarchs. The Thunderbirds haven't had any issues with the Monarchs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Tumwater walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-15, 25-22.

Tove Hugus paced Tumwater's offense, picking up 13 kills. Hugus got some help from Bailey Broeker and her 18 assists. Lauren Montoya-Kilmer controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tumwater will welcome Steilacoom at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mark Morris, they will host Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
