Basketball Recap: Simmons Comes Up Short

Simmons was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 74-57 to the Riverside Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (56), the Blue Devils still had to take the loss.

Simmons' defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Riverside, they pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Simmons is taking a road trip to face off against Humphreys County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverside, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Calhoun City at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
