Football Recap: Vincent Memorial Picks Up 11th Consecutive Victory

Vincent Memorial had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.2 points) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 35-13 margin over the Southwest EC Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Scots, who have now won seven matches by 21 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vincent Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Azul Trujillo, who threw for 373 yards and five TDs while completing 77.5% of her passes. Trujillo's passing game has become a key predictor of the Scots' success: the team is undefeated when her passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. Another receiver making a difference was Jessica Manriquez, who picked up 164 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Vincent Memorial's record now sits at 13-3. As for Southwest EC, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
