Recap: Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils vs. Tamaqua Blue Raiders

The Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Tamaqua 57-26. Shenandoah Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-14.

When it comes to explaining why Shenandoah Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is John Silvestre. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Silvestre is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season.

Connor Dillon was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 26 points along with 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Tamaqua's points. Another player making a difference was Noah Mateyak, who scored 14 points.

Shenandoah Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Tamaqua, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Shenandoah Valley will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Weatherly at 7:30 p.m. Tamaqua's road trip will continue as they head out to face North Schuylkill at 7:00 p.m. on December 6th. North Schuylkill and Tamaqua are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
