Softball Preview: Eustace Bulldogs vs. LaPoynor Flyers
Eustace is a perfect 3-0 against LaPoynor since February of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bulldogs will square off against the Flyers at 9:55 a.m. Eustace will be strutting in after a win while LaPoynor will be coming in after a loss.
Eustace had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Athens on Monday. The Bulldogs blew past the Hornets 15-7.

Landrie Baker was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Remington Spivey, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Eustace was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Athens only posted a batting average of .167.
Meanwhile, LaPoynor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 15-0 to Palestine.
LaPoynor's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Eustace, their record now sits at 2-0.
Eustace came out on top in a nail-biter against LaPoynor when the teams last played back in February of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Flyers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
