Football Game Preview: Oakcrest Falcons vs. Cedar Creek Pirates

Oakcrest is 0-10 against Cedar Creek since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Pirates. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,096 yards in their previous games.

On Friday, Oakcrest was able to grind out a solid victory over Absegami, taking the game 26-14. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Oakcrest found their leader in freshman Zane Forest, who threw for 198 yards and three TDs. The Falcons also got help from Jaden Harvey, who showed off his sure hands for 121 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Cedar Creek earned a 43-33 victory over Holy Spirit on Friday.

Oakcrest better keep an eye on Aamir Dunbar. He was instrumental in Cedar Creek's win, rushing for 293 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Those 293 rushing yards gave Dunbar a new career-high.

Cedar Creek was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 506 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Oakcrest's record is now 2-3. As for Cedar Creek, their record now sits at 4-1.

Oakcrest couldn't quite finish off Cedar Creek when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 27-25. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Dunbar, who rushed for 182 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Now that the Falcons know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
