Softball Recap: Scott Comes Up Short

Scott extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-13. They lost 10-0 to the Cooper Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-5 back in March.

Scott saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashlyn Riley, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Riley has hit this season.

As for Cooper, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-4-1. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

On Cooper's side, Lily Spraker looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Spraker has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kinley (KJ) Johnson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Taylor Nevels was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.

Coming up, Scott will be playing at home against Campbell County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cooper, they will venture away from home to square off against Conner at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jaguars will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
