Softball Recap: Orange Park Comes Up Short

Orange Park lost against Bishop Snyder back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Orange Park Raiders fell just short of the Bishop Snyder Cardinals by a score of 4-2.

Orange Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Regan Barnett, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Braylee Absher also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Orange Park dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Bishop Snyder, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Coming up, Orange Park will square off against Menendez at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Menendez has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.63 runs per game on average), something Orange Park will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bishop Snyder, they will face off against Peniel Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Bishop Snyder 2.9, Peniel Baptist Academy 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
