Volleyball Recap: Effingham Victorious

After losing to Mt. Zion the last time they met, Effingham decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hearts sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Braves on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hearts.

Effingham had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-18, 25-13.

Averie Wolfe was the offensive standout of the match as she had 12 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in August.

Effingham's record now sits at 12-7. As for Mt. Zion, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season.
