Baseball Recap: Knightstown Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Knightstown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the Union County Patriots. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won four in a row.

B Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. C Gorman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Knightstown's record now sits at 11-6. As for Union County, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Looking ahead, Knightstown will face off against Irvington Preparatory Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union County, they will take on Greensburg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
