Basketball Game Preview: Strong Rock Christian Patriots vs. Calvary Christian Knights

The Strong Rock Christian Patriots will challenge the Calvary Christian Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Christian took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Strong Rock Christian, who comes in off a win.

Strong Rock Christian took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Windsor Academy as Strong Rock Christian made off with a 70-44 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Calvary Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 48-39 to Deerfield-Windsor. While losing is never fun, Calvary Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while Deerfield-Windsor is ranked 47th).

Strong Rock Christian will have to keep a close watch on Tj Benson and Tyler Freeman, a pair of players who had a big impact on Calvary Christian's prior game. Benson posted 12 points and five rebounds, while Freeman had 12 points. That's the most points Freeman has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Heard Heard, who put up five points.

Calvary Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Strong Rock Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
