Softball Recap: John Jay Comes Up Short

John Jay extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-2. They lost 10-4 to the Arlington Admirals. The Patriots were not able to make up for their loss to the Admirals from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Arlington, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.0 runs this season.

For Arlington's part, the team relied heavily on Sophia Terilli, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Terilli a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Liguori, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Jay will challenge Scarsdale at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Arlington, they will welcome Kingston at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
