Colony waltzed into their game on Saturday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Beaumont Cougars.

Steven Gonzales looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ricardo Zazueta, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Adrian Sifuentes was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Colony was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Colony's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Beaumont, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Coming up, Colony will challenge Los Altos at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Beaumont, they will take on Citrus Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blackhawks have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
