Volleyball Recap: Menomonie Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Menomonie hadn't done well against Cumberland recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Mustangs walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Beavers. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Beavers on Saturday, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Menomonie was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14.

Menomonie's win ended a ten-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-20. As for Cumberland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 16 of their last 17 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-26 record this season.

Menomonie will head out to challenge Eau Claire Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Old Abes have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Cumberland, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hayward at 7:00 p.m.
