Soccer Game Preview: Casa Grande vs. Petaluma

The Casa Grande Gauchos will face off against the Petaluma Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Casa Grande's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Casa Grande's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against American Canyon, sneaking past 1-0. The Gauchos wouldn't have won without Juan Parra, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Petaluma has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They fell just short of Windsor by a score of 1-0 back in December of 2024. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 872nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 221st).

Casa Grande's victory bumped their record up to 2-3-1. As for Petaluma, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-2.

Casa Grande beat Petaluma by a goal in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 3-2. Does Casa Grande have another victory up their sleeve, or will Petaluma turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
