Softball Recap: Loogootee Has No Trouble Against Washington

Loogootee lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Washington, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's matchup. Loogootee put the hurt on Washington with a sharp 23-13 win on Monday. The Lions not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 4, 2024.

Loogootee got a massive performance out of Breanna Courter, who scored four runs and stole six bases while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Brianna Eckerle, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI.

Courter wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Loogootee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They got six more hits than Washington's also-impressive total of 12.

The victory got Loogootee back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Loogootee Lions duke it out with North Daviess Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Washington, they will welcome Evansville Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
