Basketball Game Preview: International Community Comets vs. Merritt Island Christian Cougars

The International Community Comets and the Merritt Island Christian Cougars will compete for holiday cheer at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, International Community didn't have quite enough to beat Lake Mary Prep and fell 43-40. The matchup marked the Comets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Merritt Island Christian). They breezed past Brevard HEAT to the tune of 70-38 on Friday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Firehawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Merritt Island Christian's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for International Community, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Everything came up roses for International Community against Merritt Island Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2015, as the squad secured a 67-26 victory. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
