Softball Game Preview: Sports Leadership & Management Bulls vs. Valley Vikings

Sports Leadership & Management has gone 9-1 against Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bulls will head out on the road to face off against the Vikings at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sports Leadership & Management has three straight victories, Valley has 17 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Sports Leadership & Management is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Sunrise Mountain 21-1 on Wednesday. The Bulls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by 11 runs or more this season.

Mya Schweisthal made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Zariah Newman was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024. Naima Ralston was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI.

Sports Leadership & Management kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Valley fell victim to Boulder City and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 15-0.

Sports Leadership & Management's record is now 17-2. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.

Everything went Sports Leadership & Management's way against Valley in their previous meeting on April 4th, as Sports Leadership & Management made off with a 15-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulls since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
