Softball Game Preview: Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs vs. Whiteland Warriors

The Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs will face off against the Whiteland Warriors at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Franklin Community is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since April 9th on Friday. They fell just short of Decatur Central by a score of 11-9.

Addie Mashino was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlynn Keser, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Whiteland had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let East Central get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday. Give the Warriors' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Whiteland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin Community, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-11.

Everything went Franklin Community's way against Whiteland in their previous meeting last Saturday, as Franklin Community made off with a 13-2 victory. Do the Grizzly Cubs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
