Kewanee has gone a perfect 3-0 against Farmington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Boilermakers will take on the Farmers at 4:30 p.m. Kewanee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Kewanee didn't have quite enough to beat Hall and fell 5-4. The Boilermakers haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Colson Welgat put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Welgat wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ben Taylor, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Ace LaFollette was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Farmington). They put the hurt on Bushnell-Prairie City with a sharp 22-6 win on Saturday. The Farmers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.
Lane Wheelwright was incredible, going 4-for-5 with eight RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those eight RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Henry Easley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Farmington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Farmington pushed their record up to 22-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Kewanee, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-17.
Kewanee skirted past Farmington 3-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Boilermakers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
