Baseball Recap: King City Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After losing to South Holt the last time they met, King City decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Wildkats came out on top against the Knights by a score of 8-4 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Wildkats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Landon Carlson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Carlson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ryder Sample was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Graham Medsker was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

King City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Holt only posted a batting average of .250.

The victory got King City back to even at 7-7. As for South Holt, they dropped their record down to 11-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

King City didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-1 loss against Albany on the 28th. As for South Holt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-5 defeat against Rock Port on the 28th.
