Basketball Recap: Bonneville Comes Up Short

Bonneville and Viewmont squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Bonneville had to settle for second. They took a 50-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Viewmont Vikings. The Lakers just can't catch a break and have now endured ten losses in a row.

Despite the loss, Bonneville still got an impressive performance from Charity Mcdonald, who went 5-for-10 en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Baya Jimenez, who posted seven points along with 11 rebounds and six assists.

Even though they lost, Bonneville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

It was another big night for Mara Mickelson, who went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc to rack up 26 points and eight boards for Viewmont. Those 26 points gave Mickelson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Peterson, who scored 11 points and seven rebounds.

Bonneville's record now sits at 5-19. As for Viewmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Bonneville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Viewmont, they will take on Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brighton will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Viewmont surely won't give up without a fight.
