Mater Bay Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Somerset College Prepartory Academy South, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rays were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Patriots on Wednesday. The Rays not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3, 2024.

Mater Bay Academy never let Somerset College Prepartory Academy South on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-15, 25-21.

Gianni Alonso paced Mater Bay Academy's offense, picking up ten kills. Alonso got some help from Robert Elias Sanchez and his 25 assists.

Mater Bay Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Somerset College Prepartory Academy South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mater Bay Academy will square off against International Studies at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rays are on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and International Studies a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck. As for Somerset College Prepartory Academy South, they will be playing at home against Westwood Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
