Preview: Bassfield vs. West Marion
Bassfield has had a week off and is no doubt ready to get back on the field. They are on the road again on Friday and play against West Marion. After these two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune.
Bassfield had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They took their game two weeks ago with ease, bagging a 48-6 victory over Hazlehurst.
Meanwhile, West Marion kept a clean sheet against Yazoo County last Friday. West Marion steamrolled past Yazoo County 36 to nothing. Jartavious Martin and Jeremiah Holmes were among the main playmakers for the Trojans as the former rushed for 101 yards and one TD on 13 carries and the latter picked up 32 yards on the ground on four carries and threw two passing touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Bassfield to 1-0 and West Marion to 12-1. While both teams are coming in off of wins, only one will triumph this game. Who will it be? Check back in with MaxPreps after the game is over for details.
