Manchester had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Washington Tigers by a score of 3-2. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

Manchester started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-15, 15-12.

When it comes to explaining why Manchester lost, don't look at Saige Rankin. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs.

Manchester has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Woodridge on the 20th. As for Washington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Canton Central Catholic on the 20th.
