Baseball Game Preview: Salisbury Hornets vs. East Davidson Golden Eagles

Salisbury is 1-9 against East Davidson since March of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hornets will face off against the Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Salisbury will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against North Rowan on Wednesday. The Hornets blew past the Cavaliers 11-1. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, East Davidson had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four. They put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 13-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

East Davidson now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Salisbury, their victory bumped their record up to 3-11.

Salisbury might still be hurting after the 13-2 loss they got from East Davidson in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
