Softball Recap: Mt. Enterprise Wins Going Away Against Martinsville

Mt. Enterprise's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Martinsville Pirates 16-4. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Chasity Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Garcia was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Mt. Enterprise let Kenslie Owens and Jorden Jackson run wild. Owens got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs, while Jackson went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave Owens a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Jackson, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Mt. Enterprise always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Mt. Enterprise's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Martinsville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Mt. Enterprise has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Chireno on the 1st. As for Martinsville, they will challenge Garrison at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Martinsville is facing Garrison at the right time seeing as Garrison is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
