Recap: L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders vs. Dakota Cougars
The L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Dakota, falling 63-33. L'Anse Creuse North has struggled against Dakota recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Dakota's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samone Andrews, who scored 17 points along with five assists and four steals. Andrews is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Tambre Williams was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds.
L'Anse Creuse North's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Dakota, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. L'Anse Creuse North will challenge Grosse Pointe South at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dakota, they will head out on the road to face off against Grosse Pointe North at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Grosse Pointe North is on a five-game streak of home wins, Dakota a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
