Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Christian Lions vs. Druid Hills Red Devils

The Trinity Christian Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Druid Hills Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Trinity Christian lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Mary Persons, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's game. Trinity Christian blew past Mary Persons 15-0 on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Trinity Christian got a massive performance out of Tj Ford, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Ford also scored two runs, which is notable because Trinity Christian is 11-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Camden Rodgers, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Meanwhile, Druid Hills suffered their closest defeat since February 13th on Monday. They fell just short of Marist by a score of 4-2. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the War Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Jake Brown was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Noah Brocklebank also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Trinity Christian's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Druid Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
