Basketball Recap: North County's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

North County had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Northeast Eagles on Tuesday, sneaking past 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since February 22, 2024.

Brynn Jones and Maiah Parker certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Jones posted nine points in addition to seven boards and seven steals, while Parker had 21 points. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 24 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Amari Folkes, who earned seven points.

North County's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Northeast, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North County will square off against Annapolis at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northeast, they will challenge Green Street Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
