It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Oak Grove had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 36-7 victory over the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Oak Grove's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jyden Barnes, who rushed for 107 yards on only 12 carries. That's the most rushing yards Barnes has posted since back in October of 2024. Oak Grove also got help from Amir Dalton, who showed off his sure hands for 107 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Oak Grove was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 205 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.

Oak Grove pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.7 points over those games. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.

Coming up, Oak Grove will face off against Jay M. Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups. Northwest Cabarrus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
