Baseball Preview: Phoebus Phantoms vs. Warwick Raiders
Phoebus hasn't had much luck against Warwick recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Phantoms will be playing in front of their home fans against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Warwick took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Phoebus, who comes in off a win.
Phoebus is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Norcom 24-4 on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Phantoms as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Jacob Moore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Aiden Blunt was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Phoebus: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 1-16 otherwise. Josiah (Beaux) Moore was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.
Phoebus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .756. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Warwick came up short against Hampton on Thursday and fell 4-1. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Phoebus' victory bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Warwick, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
