Baseball Recap: Chicago Hope Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against St. Edward on Tuesday, Chicago Hope Academy came back down to earth. Chicago Hope Academy took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Laurence Vikings on Thursday.

Dominic Bonilla was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Chicago Hope Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for St. Laurence, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Chicago Hope Academy will face off against DePaul College Prep at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Chicago Hope Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Laurence, they will take on Homewood-Flossmoor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
