Baseball Recap: Lehman's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Lehman hadn't done well against Hays recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lobos sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Hawks. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lobos as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Andrew Cruz made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Cruz wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Roberts, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Hayden Schaeffer also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Lehman's record now sits at 10-19. As for Hays, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-10-1 record this season.

Lehman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hays, they will take on Leander at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
