Basketball Game Preview: Walnut Grove Tigers vs. Everton Tigers

Walnut Grove is on a four-game streak of home losses also dating back to last season, Everton a 16-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Walnut Grove Tigers will host the Everton Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Walnut Grove was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-49 to Humansville.

Meanwhile, Everton was beaten by McAuley Catholic 66-21 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 578th, while the Warriors are ranked 191st).

Walnut Grove will need focus on slowing down Cameron Sanders, one of several Everton players who made an impact when they last played. He posted two points. The dominant performance also gave Sanders a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Noah Morris, who scored three points.

Everton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Walnut Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
