Softball Recap: Monticello Magic vs. North Branch Vikings
Monticello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-5 to the North Branch Vikings, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. If the Magic were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Vikings when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Monticello saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josi Ordorff, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another was Emma McLoed, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for North Branch, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monticello will welcome Moorhead at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Magic are facing the Spuds at the right time seeing as the Spuds are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for North Branch, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Princeton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
