Basketball Recap: Nixyaawii Community Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Nixyaawii Community had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40.1 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 73-47 margin over the Echo Cougars. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Cougars are ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nixyaawii Community has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.2 points per game. As for Echo, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-6.

Coincidentally, Nixyaawii Community and Echo will both be playing Cove the next time they take the court. Nixyaawii Community will host Cove at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Echo will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
