Softball Recap: Westfall Mustangs vs. Unioto Shermans
Westfall extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 9-10 in the process. They fell 9-4 to the Unioto Shermans. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Shermans earlier this season, when they won 10-9.
Westfall saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joni Snyder, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.
As for Unioto, they pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westfall will challenge Hillsboro at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Unioto, they will square off against Adena at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Shermans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
