Baseball Game Preview: Peebles Indians vs. Eastern Eagles

Peebles hasn't had much luck against Eastern recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Eastern took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Peebles, who comes in off a win.

Peebles took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Eastern, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Warriors 4-3. The win was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Bradley Shoemaker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Peebles saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathanel Cummings, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Eastern fell victim to Oak Hill and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Oaks, falling 11-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Oaks recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Peebles, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.

Peebles might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Eastern in their previous matchup back in April of 2017. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
