Baseball Recap: Slidell Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Slidell can now relate to. They fell just short of the Sam Houston Broncos by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Broncos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 on Tuesday.

Slidell got a good showing from Carter Bucholz, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Bucholz has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Slidell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cory Rushing, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Slidell and nudges their season record down to 27-11. As for Sam Houston, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 35-7.

Slidell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sam Houston has already played their next contest (against Barbe), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
