Archbishop Molloy entered their tilt with Iona Prep on Friday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Gaels. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 10-5 win last Saturday.

Archbishop Molloy got a great performance from Liam Brower as he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Ayden Roman and Dylan Payano did most of the damage at the plate: Roman went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs, while Payano got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave Payano a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Lods, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Archbishop Molloy pushed their record up to 32-6-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Iona Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 24-8-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Gaels beat Archbishop Molloy by a score of 8-2 on Friday.
