Softball Game Preview: Blooming Grove Lions vs. Palmer Bulldogs

The Blooming Grove Lions will face off against the Palmer Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Blooming Grove's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Palmer's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Blooming Grove is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Palmer just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 5-4.

For Palmer's part, Marti Williamson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The dominant performance gave Williamson a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Maddox, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Palmer moved to 7-9-1 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Blooming Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-2.
