Basketball Recap: Kelaiah Baker and Micah Bouie Secure Win for Rutherford

The Rutherford Rams didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the International Community Comets on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 53-49 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Rutherford was led to victory by Micah Bouie and Kelaiah Baker. Bouie posted 19 points, while Baker had 17 points. Another player making a difference was Damari Scott, who scored seven points.

When it comes to explaining why International Community lost, don't look at Paxton Boaz. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-19 to rack up 28 points along with six boards and four steals. That was a full 57.1% of the Comets' points, marking the fourth time in a row Boaz has put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Grover, who earned nine points.

The victory got Rutherford back to even at 2-2. As for International Community, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Rutherford will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Walton at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. As for International Community, they will challenge Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
