Basketball Recap: Highland Tech Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Darius Stinson Jr and Irvin Thompson + How To Watch

Highland Tech extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-5. They lost 69-45 to the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets. If the Rams were looking for revenge after losing 75-60 to the Yellow Jackets when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Highland Tech's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Irvin Thompson, who posted six points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, and Darius Stinson Jr, who scored 18 points and seven boards. Thompson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Jacorey Davis was another key player, putting up six points.

As for Bessemer City, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points over those games.

Jonathan Black continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 21 points and four steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Nash, who went 5-for-8 en route to 10 points and seven boards.
