Recap: Montverde Academy Eagles vs. Cardinal Mooney Cougars
The Montverde Academy Eagles put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 62-46 win over Cardinal Mooney. The score was all tied up 27-27 at the break, but Montverde Academy was the better team in the second half.
Jaloni Cambridge continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds. The contest was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Vivian Iwuchukwu was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with 6 rebounds.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kali Barrett, who scored 22 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madi Mignery, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Montverde Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Cardinal Mooney, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
