Soccer Game Preview: Cheyenne Mountain vs. Severance

The Cheyenne Mountain Hawks will challenge the Severance Silver Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Cheyenne Mountain is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Air Academy, who was ranked 16th at the time (Cheyenne Mountain was ranked 24th). The Hawks fell 3-1 to the Kadets on Tuesday.

Cheyenne Mountain's goal came courtesy of Clare Jones, who's now up to 19 this season.

Meanwhile, Severance kept a clean sheet against Berthoud on Thursday. They beat the Spartans by a goal, winning 1-0.

Cheyenne Mountain's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4-3. As for Severance, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 8-4-3.
